An Innovative Partnership and Methods for Knowledge Co-Production in Water Governance.
The case study of the Gesso Stura Natural Park
Turin/Cuneo, Italy
17-19 April 2023
Call for abstracts and posters
Topic:
Our 3-day-workshop sets a common framework for co-production of knowledge (CoPK) through the mapping and evaluation of existing climate-smart water governance practices. By using an inductive and comparative approach we explore how state and non-state actors can systematically and effectively develop ways of CoPK to take into account the perspectives of different knowledge bearers. We assert that CoPK can successfully counter the perceived lack of effectiveness of the mostly uni-lateral participatory rules in administrative and international decision-making. Even though the workshop connects the narrative of effective participation with the best practices of CoPK from selected local communities (Italy and Germany), it is open to inputs and contributions from other geographical areas.
How can you participate:
We have an opening for up to five students from the University of Bayreuth, either in law or in the “Zusatzstudium Umweltrecht”, who are willing to write (or already writing) a seminar paper (OSA/Kleines Seminar) on questions connected to Co-Production, Water Governance, Participation. If you want to participate in the work-shop (fully funded by the DAAD), you would need to present your seminar paper in a poster session in English. For those of you, who are writing an OSA, this is not the oral exam. For the Zusatzstudium/Kleines Seminar: you will receive a “Seminarschein” by presenting the poster and writing 10-12 pages on your topic.
