Teaching
In her teaching, Prof. Dr. Eva Julia Lohse places particular emphasis on the didactic transmission of legal knowledge and application skills. Critical questioning and understanding of doctrinal opinions, as well as a systematic scientific approach to legal issues, are important to her. The Chair of Public Law III also aims to integrate new (engaging) teaching methods where appropriate and to enhance students' self-presentation skills.
Together with Dr. Martin Zwickel and Matthias Schmid, Prof. Dr. Eva Julia Lohse developed a weekend seminar for first-year law students at the University of Erlangen in 2006. This seminar focuses on legal reasoning and exam techniques, providing cross-disciplinary skills for writing legal opinions and solving cases using engaging methods. The concept was made more widely accessible through their joint book „Kompetenztraining Jura“ (2014) and the Virtual University of Bavaria (since 2011).
